Bad things happen to good people. As much as we wish otherwise, difficulty is an unavoidable part of life. We can assign blame if we choose, but challenges will come.

TODD GOODWIN, EIC
Life is full of highs and lows, and although we know this, we are often surprised or frustrated when adversity shows up. Recently, in the span of one week, my washing machine failed, my wife's car needed new brakes, my hot water heater went out, and my truck began acting up. Instead of responding with anger, I chose gratitude. I thanked God for a washing machine that had served us well, for vehicles that allow us to travel without walking, and for the electricity that heats our water. My circumstances didn't immediately change--those items still needed repair--but my perspective did. I am convinced of God's love and His commitment to my well-being, and that assurance gives me peace that surpasses understanding.

As you read these articles and the stories of people who have faced their own "what now?" moments, I hope you are encouraged and strengthened in your faith. May your relationship with God grow deeper as you build your life on the unshakable foundation of who He is and His love for you and for all people.
"Count it all joy when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Let patience complete its work, so that you may be mature and lack nothing." - James 1:2-4 (my interpretation)
